RAVAS MForks nominated for FLTA Awards
The British Fork Lift Truck Association have nominated RAVAS MForks for the Awards for Excellence 2012, category Safety. The FLTA is internationally recognised as a leading independent authority on fork lift trucks. It exists to maintain and raise standards in the materials handling industry.
Every year the FLTA nominates the most innovative, ground-breaking products and ideas of importance for the materials handling industry.

MForks is the first load moment monitoring system integrated into the forks of counterbalanced trucks and reach trucks. MForks measures both the weight of the load and the position of its load centre.
MForks is designed to signal overloading of counterbalanced trucks and reach trucks, in order to prevent trucks from tipping over and forks from breaking. Every forklift truck has a load diagram which shows the maximum lifting capacity in relation to the position of the load centre. In practice it’s left to the forklift driver to interpret the load diagram and to decide whether a load can be lifted safely. Until today no tool existed that indicates the actual load moment on the forks. MForks changes this: from now on every lift truck driver can have a clear indication of whether a load is being lifted safely.

RAVAS MForks win MM-Logistik award at CeMAT 2011
 At the 2011 CeMat show in Hannover, RAVAS received the MM-Logistik award for its latest development: MForks. According to the expert jury, MForks is the most innovative product in the forklift safety category. MForks is the first load moment monitoring system integrated into the forks of counterbalanced trucks and reach trucks. MForks measures both the weight of the load and the position of its load centre. A patent is pending.

How does MForks work?
Before use, MForks are calibrated on the lift truck, according to the load diagram. The system then continuously monitors the moment forces from the load: both the weight of the load and the position of its load centre are taken into account. The result is transmitted to an indicator in the truck cabin via Bluetooth connection. The indicator calculates whether the load, in its current position on the forks, may be lifted safely. In its display, the indicator shows which percentage of the maximum lifting capacity, at the current load centre, is being used. If the load moment exceeds the 100% limit, a warning buzzer sounds. The driver can then offload the forks and pick up the load in a different way, or leave it for a truck with a higher lifting capacity. This way, the driver can always accurately judge whether the situation is safe.
MForks is a radically innovative product that increases user safety on counterbalanced trucks and reach trucks. In the near future RAVAS will offer MForks in combination with a lifting height sensor or data logging equipment. RAVAS has applied for a patent on MForks. In 2010 iForks, another RAVAS product, was awarded the Innovation Prize of the British Forklift Truck Association.

iForks with RFID and load moment monitoring system for reach trucks
RAVAS at the CeMAT: focusing on the future with groundbreaking products
Thanks to its innovative approach, RAVAS has been market leader in mobile weighing for over 20 years. This drive for innovation is evident from RAVAS’ product presentations at the CeMat 2011: connectivity, integration of mobile weighing and RFID, and m-Forks, the first forks for counterbalanced trucks and reach trucks that do not only measure the weight of the load, but also the position of its centre of gravity.
iForks with integrated RFID: weighing and identifying at the same time
 RAVAS has developed a version of iForks with an RFID reader integrated in the scale forks. This iForks version measures the weight of the pallet lifted and at the same time reads the ID-code in the pallet tag. It sends this combined information direct from the forklift to a WMS or ERP system. The ideal tool for efficient goods reception.
m-Forks: load moment monitoring for counterbalanced trucks and reach trucks
As a protection against breaking forks or overturning trucks caused by overload, RAVAS has developed the m-Forks. The m-Forks are fitted with a load moment monitoring system. The forks measure the moment force of the load: both the weight and the position of its centre of gravity are taken into account. A revolutionary product that contributes to user safety around forklifts and reach trucks. The m-Forks have standard fork dimensions.

RAVAS-Pro series: accuracy, versatility and connectivity in a single product
Two important characteristics of the RAVAS-2100 and RAVAS-6100 Pro versions are a high weighing accuracy and a high performance battery solution. Of course connectivity via RS, Bluetooth, LAN or WLAN is a standard option.
Both the RAVAS-2100 Pro and RAVAS-6100 Pro were developed for high end industrial applications, for example in food or pharma. The RAVAS-6100 Pro has a programmable scale terminal, that can also be supplied with a touch screen. Both systems have a multirange display graduation that starts off with 100g steps. The professional battery solution can power both 12V and 24V scale terminals. The pallet truck is supplied in epoxy painted or stainless steel version.

 The RAVAS-1 pallet truck with scales has been updated. Our entry model weighing hand pallet truck is now fitted with a compact, dedicated indicator and consumes less power than its predecessor: it works on two AA batteries, instead of four.
More importantly, thanks to an integrated g-sensor the RAVAS-1 now has a professional lifting height indication in the display, making the pallet truck scale more accurate and easier to use. Little arrows in the display show whether the load is lifted high enough to weigh: as soon as the proper lifting height is reached, the arrows change into a horizontal line and the weight is no longer blinking but shown stable in the indicator display. This RAVAS pallet truck scale will help your organization to reduce its errors in shipping.

 The International Materials Handling Exhibition –a must-see event for logistics professionals - was a very successful show for RAVAS. We met lots of new contacts as well as seeing many of our current relations from the international Material Handling business.
We would like to thank all our visitors for their interest in our eye catcher: the revolutionary iForks in combination with online-data communication via UniMobile software on a handheld terminal. We gave some prosperous live demonstrations of customer cases. The subject matter of those demonstrations: how to realise considerable cost reductions using iForks and UniMobile software on your forklift trucks for rationalising material flows and for processing the resulting information flows.
